    It's been a while.

Thursday, August 21, 2008, 09:47 PM CST [General]

Summer is gone and I was too . Summer has been busy with just work. We didn't get anything done and for a while there I was just plain ol' burned out. The kids were at Grandmas all summer and it was great, even though I missed them after awhile. I entered my dog into obedience class, and he graduated. I plan on entering him into Advanced and get good citizen status.

My meetup group is awesome. We have over eighty members signed up and almost 30 of them is active. You might not think that's much, but there are groups out there that have 600 and only 13 come to the meets. We are expanding into offering learning circles. I promised I wasn't going to teach again, but I have since reconcidered. I will teach 3 a year so no burn out for me. We are also having Pagan Adult Night Out's...PANO for more grown up meets. It has really grown and changed. None of this would of been possible without My co- organizers, especially Keirah. When my life has been hectic she has taken up my slack. I don't know what I would of done without her. We haven't had any petty fights between members and for the most part everyone likes everyone.

I hope everyone is well! I promise not to be off for so long again!!!

    Look at the Bright Side

Wednesday, April 9, 2008, 06:04 PM CST [General]

I could start this with all the bad crap that has happened last month. From rolling my truck to promotions falling through, just crap! Instead i am goingto look at the bright side.

Kids are doing well in school, grades are up and no teacher calls (not that there ever is). Hubby got a raise and it looks like I will too, so with him working in town and stuff we should be OK. Mom and her Husband just got back from Panama in good health, last time they came home with food posioning.  Humm ya not much but YEA!!!

Everything is turning green here. Winter still refuses to let go, but the days being longer really helps. The Meetup group is planning our Beltane Fest, it was good last year so I hope this year is better. We are doing a little more planning and I have a great group of Co-organizers to help me out. That's about all for now. Hopefully i will have more time to post things this year.

    Vampires, Werwolves, Witches....Oh MY

Thursday, March 6, 2008, 10:37 PM CST [General]

I have to say I love to read. And thanks to my Dad I love different stories, not just my beloved smut books (that I get from my Mom LOL). Latly I have been on a Vampire, Witch  & Werewolf kick. Everything that I have picked up has them in it.  The last few books have been so good I thought I would recommend them to anyone else stuck indoors on a cold  day.

First is the Women of the Otherworld series by Kelly Armstrong. Her books has them all in it plus a little mystery. The titles of this series include "Dime Store Magic", "Industrial Magick", "Hanted", "Bitten", "Stolen" and "Broken". The characters all run through these books. I couldn't put them down.

Then I skipped over to the teen section to The seris by Stephenie Meyer, and I have only gotten through the first book, but LOOOVVVVEEDDD it!@ They are "Twilight", "Eclipse", and "New Moon". I am cheap so I am weighting for the other two to come out in soft cover. We got Vampires, and by cheating I saw we throw in Werewolves into the bunch

Right now though I am totally ingrossed with P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast's seris of "A House of Night". We have "Marked", "Betrayed", "Choosen", and soon "Untamed". We have Vampires and a little Goddess worship thrown in. Again from our teen selection and I really can't put this one down. I finished "Marked" in about 4 hours.

So ther you go, if your cold and bored, brew yourself a hot cup of tea, grab a blanket and read one of these great books. I am....except now I gotta go to bed.

    Warm Up Already

Monday, March 3, 2008, 09:45 PM CST [General]

We got just a taste of Summer for one day. It reached a warm 71 degrees on Saturday, then Sunday it sleeted and was cold. *sighs* Gotta Love Nebraska LOL. Today I started my day with our new hamster getting out. Darn cats just can't leave him alone and someone must of knocked the top of the towner out and Jerry made a jump. It only took 20 minutes to catch him thank goodness.

We are trying to get poeple down to look at our house. Our basement wall on our 107 year old home is collapsing. We aren't having the greatest luck. While it's bad news, we have been wanting to put in a basement for more living space. We just keep calling people and hope to have some estimates by the end of the month. Only problem I see is finding someplace for all my pets. The bunnies, another breeder who doesn't have bunnies anymore, will stay in town with her. The cats, well my sister-in-law says no right now, but if it comes down too it will take them. Now the dogs I don't know what to do. They will probally get kenneled some where. No one will rent for just 3 months, let alone with pets. I am trying not to stress out.....Deep breath in.... Not working.

The feedlot thing is just a pain. We have a letter from the Department of the Interior stating that the location they have picked is not suitable due to the soil and the closeness to the river. The Fish and Game commission also stated the same thing. But money has a loud voice, and no one seems to care. I guess I will just keep walking my peition and get the towns voice, we'll see. Even the papers and TV are doing a half ass job reporting on it. They never talk to us just the people that want to put it in. They have a bunch of empty promises, and have covered it with sparkles to make it look good. Half the stuff they have stated is bull. I don't know if we will win, but I would rather go down kicking and screaming then just going with the flow. March 25th is our big day, send energy that they will listen to the peoples voice and deny this. Because they shrank the borders, and one of their cronies bought  the closest porperties,  they don't need the majority vote now, and the other neighbors (50 sent in protest letters) protests don't matter anymore. It's getting dirty and may go to court.

BLah BLAH...enough sad crap. I hope everyone is doing well otherwise and the warm weather is slowly returning to you.

    Still Cold LOL

Monday, February 4, 2008, 05:58 PM CST [General]

Not much going on in cold rural Nebraska. So far, as of now, we won on the Dairy Farm issue. Unforgently they refiled. Apparently 300 people crammed in a little room saying they don't want it in our community wasn't enough.  All we hear is we are an agriculture state and think of the tax dollars it will bring. Good for them, not for us. All we think about is the smells, the flys, and the pollution it will bring. Not mention over stressing our schools. I guess we go into round two. When I have time I might post more details.

We have a new addition to the fur children....Jerry the baby hamster. We lost Harry just before Yule and they kids really wantd another (the hubby...biggest kid). He is so tiny and cute!

I gotta go. I hope to post more later!
